The International Prize of the Japanese Psychological Association was established in 2006 and is divided into three categories: Award for Distinguished Research, Award for Distinguished Services, Award for Distinguished Early and Middle Career Contributions. Award for Distinguished Early and Middle Career Contributions is given to young psychologists who have achieved outstanding accomplishments internationally.
Associate Professor Fujiwara specializes in nonverbal behavior in interpersonal communication. He developed a research method for nonverbal synchrony, applying it to the analysis of human interaction, and has published his results as the first author in international journals. His achievements are extensive, having received numerous domestic and international research awards, secured grants from the National Science Council, and served as an associate editor of the Journal of Nonverbal Behavior. He continues to contribute significantly to the field of psychology. His exceptional performance has been recognized by the Japanese Psychological Association, earning him the prestigious International Award for Distinguished Early and Middle Career Contributions.
